closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental

governments and migrants.

_CONTEXT:_
IOM opened an office in Ireland in **Apply on the website**. Ireland

IOM works to help ensure the orderly and humane management of
migration, to promote international cooperation on migration issues,
to assist in the search for practical solutions to migration problems
and to provide humanitarian assistance to migrants in need, including
refugees and internally displaced people. The programme activities in
Ireland include work in the following areas of migration management:
Return and Reintegration, Resettlement, Family Reunification and
Counter-Trafficking.
An outreach assistant is required to support the provision of IOM?s
services to migrants, including to potential returnees ? currently
living in Ireland. The outreach assistant will work closely with IOM
service beneficiaries and agencies working with them to raise general
awareness about IOM services and support beneficiaries to have an
informed and objective understanding migration and voluntary return as
an option. Under the overall guidance of the Chief of Mission (COM)
and the supervision of the Outreach Coordinator, the Outreach
Assistant will take on the following responsibilities and
accountabilities:
_CORE FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:_
* Support the Outreach Coordinator in the implementation and
monitoring of the?IOM Dublin information and outreach strategy;
* Facilitate outreach visits and information sessions, including
delivering informal and formal presentations to a variety of
audiences;
* Networking: Maintain a good relationship with Irish based
organization in fields relevant to IOM work.
* Consultation meetings: organize information and counselling
sessions with migrants in the IOM migrant hub and any other agreed
relevant location
* Suggest new and improved?information and outreach activities on
an on-going basis to respond to changing trends and needs that will
inform the IOM Ireland outreach and information strategy during in

* Assist in preparation of regular information and outreach
narrative reports and provide input to the drafting of project
narrative and statistical reports;
* Contribute to the provision of relevant content for IOM?s
website, social media platforms and print materials as well as support
the preparation of other relevant IOM Ireland materials;
* Provide informal translation assistance as required and monitoring
of the hotline outreach as required;
* Assist in the management and delivery of the virtual counselling
service
* Perform any other duties as may be assigned
_REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE_
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent. First level university degree from
an accredited academic institution,?preferably in Communications,
Journalism, International Development, Social and/or Political Science
would be an advantage
EXPERIENCE
* 1 year experience (or three years for candidates with school
diploma) in the field of communications/ media/ PR/ international
development/human rights/assistance to vulnerable groups; prior work
in assistance to migrant population an advantage
* Good knowledge of MS Office Applications (particularly Excel and
PowerPoint)
* Strong work ethic, ability to follow procedures clearly and to
work harmoniously with colleagues within a team in a multi-cultural
environment.?Ability to work independently with remote supervision
* Strong communication with excellent people and presentation skills
and adaptable to working in a variety of settings is essential
LANGUAGES
* Fluency in English is required.
* Any other IOM official language is an advantage.
